Scotland’s Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Educators’ Programme (SEE)

University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI)

The UK’s ONLY tertiary educators’ programme. The Scottish Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Educators’ Programme is designed and delivered by the University of the Highlands and Islands, Centre for Enterprise and Innovation. It aims to give educators the knowledge and tools to allow students greater accessibility to enterprising and entrepreneurial education.

Dr Harveen Chugh – Enterprise Catalyst

Imperial College London

Dr Harveen Chugh is a Senior Teaching Fellow in Entrepreneurship at the Business School, Imperial College London. She works with hundreds of entrepreneurial students every year and has developed a new GROE model (Goal, Reality, Order, Experiment) of coaching. She has also co-founded a national ‘Coaching and Mentoring Best Practice Network’ for entrepreneurship educators.

An innovative approach to broadening the appeal of the Enterprise Sandwich Year Placement

Sheffield Hallam University

The Enterprise Team at Sheffield Hallam University has developed an innovative and enhanced sandwich year placement offer, designed to appeal to the wider enterprising interests of the student population. Alternative options to the traditional business start-up placement are available to students who want the opportunity to gain enterprise and entrepreneurial experience and skills, but don’t have a business idea of their own. Students work in small multi-disciplinary teams to initiate and manage projects or ventures that replicate the characteristics and challenges of setting up a business.

Entrepreneurial Business Management at Newcastle Business School at Northumbria University

Northumbria University at Newcastle

The Entrepreneurial Business Management programme at Newcastle Business School at Northumbria University has placed an emphasis on supporting nascent entrepreneurs with their mental wellbeing as well as the emotional challenges of becoming entrepreneurs. Focusing on providing and developing a small supportive environment we have seen individuals who may have struggled with traditional large group education thrive on our programme, create ventures and achieve their goals of gaining a university degree.

Summer Start-Up Week – “A National Collaboration”

All 23 Universities and Colleges across Wales.

Summer Start -Up Week was an innovative online collaboration between all Welsh FE and HE Institutions to address the need to support and enable pre-start and early stage businesses during the Coronavirus pandemic. Campus closure from 21st March provided a unique opportunity to bring Welsh Enterprise Champions together to devise, plan and deliver a week-long online boot-camp and start-up community for 500+ aspiring and nascent entrepreneurs.

Emily Davies

Emily Davies joined the University of Exeter Student Startup Team in 2017 and has been pivotal in the development of the Entrepreneurship Support and Venture Creation activity delivered through the Student Startups programme. Emily’s work has raised the profile of entrepreneurship activity across the institution, developing extra and co-curricular content in partnership with colleges and courses from all disciplines as well as building strong links with the local start up community and initiating connections with international partners.

Kelly’s enthusiastic passion and vibrant energy is a force to be reckoned with. Swansea’s very own “Pocket rocket” has an amazing rapport with the students and staff alike that she interacts with.  Her professionalism is undisputed and her knowledge vast. She always makes time to interact on an individual basis, never missing an opportunity to network and build effective relationships. If I had to describe Kelly in a few words it would be that she is an army on her own.

Christopher Shannon

Ulster University

Since taking up his role in 2017, Chris has successfully designed and implemented all extracurricular student enterprise and entrepreneurship support services at Ulster University. He has personally supported the creation of hundreds of new businesses, engaged thousands of students in entrepreneurial activities and influenced policy at an institutional and regional level. Chris’ drive and enthusiasm has led to transformational impact locally and across the institution and his enterprising approach to service development has been recognised internationally as best practice.

Ben Mumby-Croft

Ben Mumby-Croft is Director of Imperial Enterprise Lab and has spent 15 years helping innovators on their entrepreneurial journeys at Oxford University, Anglia Ruskin University, City University London and Imperial College London, in addition to starting and running his own businesses. Creator of The Big Pitch, UK’s first video pitching-based competition in 2011, winner of the NACUE Enterprise Champion Award in 2015, he continues to innovate with initiatives like The Pioneer Fund at Imperial College London.

Dr Sarah Preedy

Plymouth Marjon University

Sarah is a Fellow of EEUK dedicated to enterprise and entrepreneurship education.  Whilst working for the Futures Entrepreneurship Centre, she completed a PhD in entrepreneurial learning (Plymouth University), supporting and developing start up support programmes for students.  She has since gone on to design and gain accreditation for UG business programmes that have enterprise and innovation at their core.  In 2018 the APPG for Entrepreneurship report on Enterprise Education included her research and acknowledged her contribution in enterprise education.  

Alan Murray

University of the West of Scotland

As enterprise innovator and champion Alan has determined the form and direction of curricular and co-curricular enterprise at UWS.  As a leader in enterprise curriculum development  and design he is at the forefront of the development of a dynamic signature pedagogy for enterprise education.  This new approach has transformed teaching and learning outcomes gaining national and international recognition. Alan has been able to achieve this with very limited resources or formal support as he typifies the enterprising ethos he promotes.
